Letters to the Editor
As pointed out by Arundhati Roy, non-violent protests do not seem to make an impact on the powers that be. The sight of NBA leader Medha Patkar who is on a fast demanding justice for the Narmada oustees is indeed poignant. While the government is ready to engage ultras across the country in talks, it is turning a deaf ear to the pleas of those who face displacement because of the Sardar Sarovar Dam. We were better off under the British who at least lent an ear to Gandhi.
