Seeking registration of political party

NEW DELHI: Expelled BJP leader Uma Bharti on Monday met the Chief Election Commissioner B.B. Tandon and presented plans to launch a political party.

"I have had discussion with the Election Commission for registration and symbol for my party. I will meet them once again," she told newspersons after meeting Mr. Tandon.

"Open to like-minded"

Ms. Bharti, who plans to launch on April 30 "a nationalist front", said her party would offer a common platform to proponents of nationalist principles. "The nationalist front is open to all like-minded people, including from the BJP, where leaders are caught in an ideological feud," she added.
