Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: Students of the PSN College of Engineering and Technology, Melathediyoor, Palayamkottai, and Deendayal Engineering College near Tiruvallur, staged a demonstration on the Department of Technical Education campus on Sardar Patel Road on Monday, seeking transfer of students to other institutions.

They alleged that in both the colleges, students were not provided basic amenities.

In Deendayal Engineering College, unknown persons allegedly misbehaved with some girl students.

They wanted action against college chairman T.D. Naidu. The students submitted a memorandum to the DoTE authorities.

Later, a release from the Commissioner of Technical Education gave the schedule of counselling for the PSN college students who have agreed to be transferred to other AICTE-approved colleges. The counselling would be held on Friday, April 7.

The counselling would be held at the Government College of Engineering, Tirunelveli. In respect of Marine Engineering students, transfers would be considered after getting the concurrence of the Directorate-General of Shipping, Mumbai.
