VIJAYAWADA: Municipal Commissioner Natarajan Gulzar has a reason to smile. Even as a few residents on the Bandar Road approached the High Court taking objection to demolition of their dwellings by the corporation as part of its Bandar Road widening, support for him has come from unexpected quarters. Office-bearers of a few colony associations met on Monday to express solidarity with Mr. Gulzar. The colony association leaders met under the leadership of president of New RTC Colony Welfare Association Bommadevara Venkateswara Rao, secretary P.L.K Prasad and treasurer V. Nageswara Rao. They said Mr. Gulzar was a sincere and efficient officer. It was unfortunate that he was being punished for his uprightness and doing his duty with commitment. Declaring their full support to the municipal commissioner, they said it would instil confidence in the latter. They adopted a resolution deciding to strengthen the hands of Mr. Gulzar in fulfilling his endeavour of grooming the city into an ideal place. The colonies represented at the meeting were Pandaripuram Welfare Association, Raghu Gardens' Welfare Association, Ashok Nagar Welfare Association, Treasury Employees' Colony Association, Ayyappanagar Welfare Association, Mega Township Welfare Association, New RTC Colony Welfare Association, Patamata Electricity Welfare Colony Association, Lakshmipathi Nagar Welfare Colony Association and J.D. Nagar Welfare Association.
