Cashing in on digital convergence, Samsung on Tuesday launched YP-D1, the world's first MP3 player with camera, Pro815 digital still camera and VP-DC, the DVD Camcorder.
All these products would be imported.
Announcing the company's strategy at the launch, the Deputy Managing Director, Samsung India, R. Zutshi, said the company was looking at a new category of business in digital convergence.
The focus would be on convergence and lifestyle and products would be built around this.
Mr. Zutshi said the investment in India would be $20 million this year, which would go into the Noida plant for increased capacities of television manufacturing. So far the company had invested $150 million.
The company, he said, was aiming at 20 per cent growth in revenues.
