VILLUPURAM: The Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) has fully endorsed the election manifesto of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and has resolved to highlight its salient features during the election campaign. The PMK has decided to put before the electorate the "attractive schemes" spelt out in its manifesto as well as that of the DMK. The party has issued the guidelines on the campaign mode at its general body meeting held at Thailapuram near here recently. The party founder S. Ramadoss exhorted them to maintain decency in public utterances, whatever be the provocation. On the one hand, they should recall the "misdeeds" of the Jayalalithaa government and highlight the poll promises spelt out in the allies' election manifestos on the other. The PMK would focus on the repressive measures adopted by the AIADMK government such as removal of 1.5 lakh Government staff at one stroke; ban on recruitment; introduction of consolidated pay; irregularities in flood relief; termination of the 10,000 road workers that led to the suicide of 88 of them, and so on. Party president G.K. Mani urged party men to work tirelessly for the success of the alliance candidates, as well as their own.
