DEHRA DUN: The Narain Dutt Tiwari Government tabled the Uttaranchal (The Uttar Pradesh State Legislature (Prevention of Disqualification) Act 1971 (Amendment) Bill, 2006, in the Vidhan Sabha once again on Tuesday and got it passed by voice vote amid loud slogans-shouting by the Opposition members. The original Bill, passed on March 27, was returned by the Governor, Sudershan Aggarwal, on Monday. The new Bill does not contain Point No. 27 which the Governor had wanted to be clarified. The BJP members led by Matwar Singh Kandari and Ajai Bhatt met the Governor in the evening and urged him not to give his assent to the Bill.
