JAIPUR: The Rajasthan Government has formulated a Rs. 100-crore scheme for development of Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur, which is the biggest Government hospital in the State, and plans to repair within three months all machines in the hospital lying out of order. The Minister of State for Medical Education, Vasudeo Devnani, announcing this in the Assembly on Tuesday, pointed out that though all attempts were made to render quality health care to poor patients, the repairing of old machines often took time due to non-availability of spare parts. Referring to the faults developing in the gadgets installed in the hospital's cobalt unit, Mr. Devnani said all defects were rectified without delay and alternative arrangements were made in another unit. The cobalt unit has 42 equipment of different categories and all of them are used for various tests and therapies. The Minister, replying to a question by Congress MLA Chandrashekhar Baid, said a committee appointed on the recommendation of the Medical Relief Society was monitoring the performance of machines and regularly submitting its reports.
