CUDDALORE: After a laxity of two days, the flags of the allies of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam have started surfacing in the election campaign of the party general secretary and Chief Minister Jayalalithaa. On the first day of her campaign at Tindivanam on March 31, the AIADMK flags and portraits of Ms Jayalalithaa were predominantly displayed at the designated places. The women supporters were seen mostly carrying the placards with the digital image of Ms. Jayalalithaa. According to party sources, the crowd response initially was lukewarm but it later increased. The campaign managers had realised that it was of absolute necessity to carry along with the allies. Hence, gradually the placards carrying the portraits of MDMK general secretary Vaiko and DPI leader Thol. Thirumavalavan and their flags have begun to crop up. This strategy has paid off because the cadres of these parties too are attracted to the roadside meetings of Ms. Jayalalithaa, resulting in considerable swelling of the crowd.
