THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Branches of the State Bank of India (SBI) remained closed in the State for the second day on Tuesday following the nationwide stir by its employees to persuade the bank management to revise staff pension and family pension. Pensioners and family pensioners also joined the bank staff in demonstrations before the branches of the bank in various parts of the State on Tuesday, according to a statement by the coordination committee of State Banks' Staff Union and SBI Officers' Association, which had called the strike. The committee said that more organisations in the banking sector associated with the demonstrations expressing their solidarity.
