19 candidates file nomination in Thrissur

Thrissur: In all, 19 candidates on Monday filed nominations for Assembly elections in nine constituencies in Thrissur district, according to an official press release issued on Tuesday.

The following is the list of constituencies and candidates:

Chelakkara: K. Radhakrishnan (Communist Party of India-Marxist); U.R. Pradeep (CPI-M)

Wadakkancherry: A.C. Moideen (CPI-M); Xavier Chittilappilly (CPI-M)

Kunnamkulam: Babu M. Palissery (CPI-M); M.N. Sathyan (CPI-M)

Thrissur: M.M. Varghese (CPI-M); M. Muraleedharan (CPI-M); Surendran (Bharatiya Janata Party); T.R. Satheesan (BJP)

Kodakara: Raveendranathan (CPI-M); Ramachandran (CPI-M); Jayan (CPI-ML)

Chalakudy: Savitri Lakshmanan (Indian National Congress)

Irinjalakuda: C.K. Chandran (CPI-M); K.P. Divakaran (CPI-M)

Manalur: Murali (CPI-M); Haridasan (CPI-M)

Guruvayur: K.V. Abdul Khader (CPI-M).

No nomination was submitted in Cherpu, Ollur, Mala, Nattika and Kodungallur constituencies on Tuesday. In all, 44 candidates have filed nomination papers in the district so far.
