Boy dies due to food poisoning in Chadmal village

NIZAMABAD: Five-year old Chakali Raju of Chadmal village in Gandhari mandal reportedly died of diarrhoea and fever while undergoing treatment in Kamareddy area hospital on Tuesday.

Raju who was going to the local Anganwadi centre fell ill on Monday after he had taken pudding prepared for Ugadi festival day.

Most of the children who ate the pudding prepared by Anganwadi workers fell sick and were admitted to the local hospital. Some of them responded to treatment while those who became serious were shifted to the Kamareddy hospital, the reports said. Integrated Child Development Society project director (in-charge), U. Madhusudhan Rao, Community Development Project Officer Seshu and Revenue Divisional Officer, E. Damodhar Rao visited the village.

Meanwhile, over 30 Employment Guaranty Scheme trainees at the DTTC, Dichpally were treated at the local Primary Health Centre and district headquarters hospital after they fell sick due to food contamination on Monday evening.
