SANGAREDDY: Taking serious exception to the comments on the dissidents made by Union Minister K.Chandrasekhara Rao, Sangareddy MLA T.Jayaprakash Reddy denied the Chief Minister's hand in their `pro-development stance.' Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday he pointed out that Mr Rao himself had lauded the Chief Minister several times and even called him a `Tiger' before the relations between them soured. He asked Mr Rao to step out of Delhi for a while and visit rural Telangana to learn about the need for development even as the process for a separate State is on. "Probably Rao has forgotten that our constituencies are also located in Telangana and we have to face the wrath of the people every day," he said. He urged the party president to realise that separate Telangana is not entirely in his hands and he would need the support of major national parties.
Consensus needed
"Telangana is not in Rao's pocket and he should stop enacting these dramas to kill time,'' Mr Jayaprakash Reddy said. "Everyone in the region realises that carving a separate State is a long-drawn process but Rao is misleading people to cover up for his failures," he said. He pointed out that Mr Rao never bothered about Telangana when he was with the TDP for years but took up the issue now only to gain political mileage. He said that the dissidents were committed to the development of Telangana and none should suspect their intentions.
