Ramanavami celebration

CHENNAI: Vedasreni Bajana Sabha will conduct the 54th Ramanavami celebration at the sabha premises on Brahmin Street, Velachery, from April 6 to 9. The celebrations will feature discourses, sahasranama arachana and annadhanam. Sita Kalyanam will be held on Sunday.

`Vedupari' festival

on April 10

The annual `Thiruvedupari' festival, of the Kalyana Ranganatha Swamy-Thirumangai Azhwar temple at Thiruvali Thirunagari, will be held at Vedarajapuram near Sirkazhi on April 10. The festival is part of the 10-day `brahmotsavam'. The idol of Kalayana Ranganathar will be taken to Thiruvali for performing the kalyana utsavam and while returning to Thirunagari, the `vedupari' will be held.

Change of venue for contact classes

The personal contact programme for II and III year undergraduate courses and second year post-graduate courses of the Institute of Distance Education of the University of Madras, originally scheduled to be held at Presidency College on April 8-9 will be held at the institute at Chepauk.

Dutch education fair

New Directions-Overseas Education will hold a Dutch education fair on Thursday at Hotel Quality Inn Sabari in

T. Nagar. Six universities from the Netherlands are participating.

Seminar on bio-diesel

A seminar on bio-diesel Jatropha and Pungamia intercropping will be held in the city on Sunday at Hotel Peninsula, T. Nagar.

Meet on astronomy

Tamil Nadu Science and Technology Centre, in collaboration with Tamil Nadu Astronomy Association, will conduct a national conference on astronomy and planetarium science from April 29-May 1.
