Tollgate removed

GUNTUR: The tollgate on the Tenali-Narakoduru main road is closed since the midnight of March 31, according to the Roads and Buildings Department Executive Engineer M. Sai Kumar.

He said that four-wheelers travelling on the route need not pay toll any more at the gate near Kommamuru canal.

Scouts and Guides invited

Scouts, Guides, Rovers, Rangers and teachers belonging to Guntur district were invited to volunteer for special service at the Seetharama Kalyana Mahotsavam (Sree Rama Navami) at Bradrachalam in Khammam district.

According to the District Education Officer Y. Chandramohan, permission was given to 150 scouts and guides in the district. They would streamline the flow of visitors and attend to other voluntary activities like distributing drinking water packets, etc.

Interested candidates could contact the Bharat Scouts and Guides office near Guntur Medical College in the city for further details, he added.
