Schools violating norms face action

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad district Collector Arvind Kumar on Monday said that action would be taken against the management of schools, which were functioning by violating the norms.

Speaking at a review meeting with the officials here, the Collector asked Deputy District Educational Officers (DEOs) and Deputy Inspectors of Schools to inform that the schools would be closed if the managements did not comply to the prescribed norms. He said 700 unrecognised schools were functioning in the twin cities.

He said action would be taken against DEOs if they failed to take steps in identifying land for the construction of schools within a month.
