Three die in road accidents

Woman knocked down by a van

HYDERABAD
: An engineering student and two others, including a woman, died in separate road accidents in the city and its fringes on Monday.
A B.Tech first year student died after the motorcycle he was riding skidded off the road at Rampally on Monday.
V Ravi Teja Reddy, 19, a resident of ECIL in Kushaiguda, was going on some personal work when the accident took place. He was pursuing his B.Tech from the Srinidhi Engineering College at Ghatkesar. "We suspect the accident might have occurred when Teja was trying to avoid a vehicle from being hit," the police said.
Crossing the road
At Madhapur, a woman died after she was knocked down by a speeding van on Monday. Police said K. Chinna Kanthamma, 60, a labourer and resident of Masjidpet village in Madhapur was crossing the road when the van hit her resulting in serious injuries. She was shifted to a nearby private hospital where she was declared as brought dead by doctors.
In yet another incident, a businessman died after the scooter he was riding was hit by a lorry at Mehdipatnam Ring Road on Monday. According to the police, T. Vinod Kumar, 32, of Chikkadpally was returning home when the accident happened.
