KOCHI: Observers for elections to the 14 Assembly constituencies in the district will arrive here on Friday. Seven general observers and three observers on election expenditure will be in the district, said a press release from the District Information Office here. Meanwhile, the number of candidates who filed nominations for elections in the district has gone up to 20 with six more filing their papers on Tuesday. K.N. Ravindranath, CPI (M) candidate contesting from the Thripunithura constituency filed his papers before the Additional District Magistrate Johnson K. George. Mr. Ravindranath has declared that he has assets worth Rs.1.22 crore. Dinakaran and Kamala from Paravur filed their nominations before M.K. Padmavathi, Block Development Officer, Alangad. A.M. Yusuf from Aluva filed his nomination papers before T.G. Manomohan, BDO, Vazhakkulam. Ponnan Ayyappan from Thripunithura and Gopinath from Aluva too have filed their nomination papers.
