This child is a mathematical genius

MOST CHILDREN his age are a bit nervous with arithmetic but not nine-year old Tejas, a student of Florence Public School. He is a master of Abacus Mental Arithmetic and can add and subtract without pencil and paper any number of rows of two digit numbers.

Tejas was sponsored to participate in the International Level Abacus Mental Arithmetic contest in Malaysia last year and did well there, we are told.

He has walked away with the championship trophy at the national level contests held in Chennai, two years in a row. He was recently invited to display his mathematical skills before a gathering at Dhaka, Bangladesh.
