Teachers' sammelana

Bangalore: The Karnataka State Primary School Teachers' Association and the Teachers' Welfare Committee have organised a State-level teachers' sammelana for the first time.

Members of the association told presspersons here on Tuesday that nearly one lakh teachers from all over the State were expected to participate in the sammelana that would be held on Thursday.

The Education Department had agreed to give the participating teachers the leave of absence. The sammelana would discuss evaluation, quality of education, implementation of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and the aim of primary education.

The sammelana would be inaugurated by Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy. Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Basavaraj Horatti will release a souvenir on the occasion.
