Furniture, raw material destroyed in fire

BANGALORE: Wooden furniture and raw material stocked in a furniture-manufacturing unit were gutted in Subramanyapura on Tuesday.

According to the Fire and Emergency Services personnel, the fire broke out in the ground floor of the two-floor building of a private limited company around 1.30 p.m. The fire destroyed wooden furniture, aluminium partitions and raw material stored in the ground floor.

As many as 15 fire tenders were pressed into service. Fire Services personnel had to break open windows to let the thick smoke out before extinguishing the fire, which took nearly five hours.
