Student falls into lake, dies

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: A second year B.Com student of a private college in the city fell into a lake and died in Hoskote police station limits in Bangalore Rural district on Sunday.

The police gave her name as Isha (21), a resident of Cox Town. Isha and her six friends had gone to Ghantiganahalli Lake on a picnic. Isha, who reportedly did not know swimming, drowned after she lost balance and fell into the lake, the police said.

The police, with the help of Fire and Emergency Service personnel, removed the body from the lake. After autopsy, Isha's body was handed over to her family on Tuesday. The Hoskote police have registered a case.
