NEW DELHI: A domestic help who had allegedly conspired to steal cash and valuables kept in his employer's house and pass it off it as a case of robbery was arrested along with two of his accomplices at Safdarjung Enclave in South-West Delhi on Tuesday. A hunt is on for the fourth accused. On Tuesday morning when Sunil Kamboj was out at work, his domestic help Raghu allegedly called in his three friends. He asked them to take away cash and other valuables kept in an almirah and before fleeing tie his hands and legs to make it look like a robbery. The accused spent some time in the house, collected about Rs. 10 lakhs and other valuables and then left the place. After a while, Raghu -- whose hands and legs had been tied -- raised an alarm thinking that his accomplices would have fled in their Maruti van. However, as luck would have it, his accomplices were unable to locate their vehicle which had been parked by the parking lot attendant. In the meantime, area residents heard Raghu's screams and rushed to his help. He told them that three robbers forced their way into the house and robbed him of the valuables. Subsequently, area residents went out in search of the "robbers" and noticed three men roaming about under suspicious circumstances around 1-30 p.m. They overpowered two of the suspects, while the third managed to flee. During interrogation, the duo disclosed that Raghu had planned the entire "robbery". The Sarojini Nagar police arrested the three accused. Further probe into the matter is on.
