Gillespie recalled

SYDNEY: Fast bowlers Jason Gillespie and Mitchell Johnson and opening batsman Phil Jaques have been added to the Australian cricket team that will play two Tests against Bangladesh this month.

The trio replace Justin Langer, Shaun Tait and Michael Kasprowicz, who suffered injuries during Australia's three-Test series against South Africa that concluded recently.

Langer has a concussion while Tait and Kasprowicz have back injuries.

Gillespie last played for Australia in its Ashes series against England last year while Jaques made his only Test appearance, also replacing Langer, against South Africa in December.

Johnson, 24, is seen as a favourite of the Australian selectors. — AP
