HUBLI: People of North Karnataka can now use computed tomography (CT) scan at the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital (KIMS) here.

The CT scan, which was procured recently, has a high-speed dual slice and multi-detector scanner, P.S. Kaladagi, director, KIMS, told presspersons here on Wednesday.

Dr. Kaladagi said that the scan facility was available at subsidised rates and already 150 patients had benefited. The facility had been set up at a cost of Rs. 1.25 crore given by the State Government as grant, he said.

Dr. Kaladagi said that the facility would be formally inaugurated by Minister for Medical Education V.S. Acharya on April 10.

He said that many new facilities have been added to the hospital in recent years.
