Anxious father, amazing son
INDIANAPOLIS: Yannick Noah said he often worries during games, wondering how his son Joakim will perform. His mind was at ease on Monday.
Joakim Noah dominated UCLA with 16 points, nine rebounds and a record seven blocks to lead the Florida Gators to their first U.S. college basketball title in a 73-57 rout.
``I'm just happy as a parent to see my son do so good, behaving well, being alive and happy,'' Yannick said. ``It's a very special event and I'm really happy for him, but most of all, I'm happy for the group. They're a good group of kids and they deserve it.''
Noah insisted his son will be in no rush to make a decision about leaving early for the NBA draft. ``Right now, he's just going to enjoy this, go back to Gainesville and share this with as many people as possible,'' he said. ``I don't have anything to do with (the NBA decision).'' AP
