Rajahmundry: In a daylight robbery three persons in the guise of Maoists took away gold worth Rs. 60 lakhs and Rs. 35,000 in cash from a private finance company in Antarvedipalem of Sakhinetipalli mandal in East Godavari on Wednesday. In a complaint given to the police by Alluri Ramabhadra Raju, owner of Sri Rama Bankers of Antarvedipalem, three persons came to their office-cum-residence on Wednesday afternoon and asked Rs.5 lakhs by pledging gold with them. Mr. Raju told them that he was not having that much cash with him readily and that he had never lent such huge amount against gold. The three returned to Raju and aimed pistols at him, saying they were Maoists, and demanded Rs.10 lakhs towards `party fund'.
