TUMKUR: The police on Tuesday arrested Lakshman, former member of a panchayat, on the charge of causing the death of a man at Manavalli. Krishnappa, 30, was electrocuted in a field owned by Lakshman. Krishnappa's wife, Gangamma, lodged a complaint alleging that it was a murder. Lakshman and his son, Lakshmikant, had planned to kill her husband. The accused tied her buffalo in the field and asked Krishnappa to take it home. But the fence of the field was electrified at that time, and Krishnappa, who happened to touch the fence, was electrocuted.
