Congress releases list of 48 candidates

CHENNAI: The Congress has finally released its list of candidates for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

The candidates were announced in New Delhi on Wednesday night, even as the DMK-led Democratic Progressive Alliance, of which the Congress is a partner, launched its campaign in the city.

Prominent among those who figure in the list are the Congress Legislature Party leader S.R. Balasubramoniyan, Peter Alphonse, D. Sudarsanam, D. Yasodha, C. Gnanasekaran and the TNCC president M. Krishnasswamy's son and youth congress leader M.K. Vishnu Prasad.
