Parishad calls for steps to end Medha's fast
Special Correspondent
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
The Kerala Sasthra Sahitya Parishad has called for measures to end the fast being undertaken by Medha Patkar and others in protest against the move to raise the height of the Narmada Sarovar dam without rehabilitating those already displaced during the dam construction.
K.N. Ganesh, president, and C.M. Muralidharan, general secretary, of the organisation, said in a statement here on Wednesday that 35,000 families were yet to be rehabilitated.
None of the assurances on rehabilitation had been implemented so far.
