ELURU: In a ghastly road accident, 10 agricultural workers were killed and 20 others injured on the Gundukolanu-Kovvuru State Highway, near Kothagudem village falling under Denduluru police limits of West Godavari district, in the early hours of Thursday. According to information, the accident occurred when the mini lorry in which the labourers were travelling from East Godavari district collided head-on with a twig-laden truck coming in the opposite direction. All the victims hailed from Prakasam, Guntur and Kurnool districts. The drivers of both ill-fated vehicles were among the dead. The police rushed to the scene, extricated the bodies from the mangled vehicle and shifted the injured persons to the Government Hospital in the city for treatment.
