New political outfit to contest five seats

Pondicherry: "Uzhaippaali Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam", a new political party, has planned to field candidates in five segments in the Union Territory. V Ganesh Babu, the general secretary, said here on Thursday that the party had held discussions with the leaders of the BJP S Tirunavukarasar and Mrs. Lalita Kumaramangalam in Chennai to form an alliance with the BJP. Mr. Babu said that the party headed by A B Rajendran would contest on "Lotus" symbol both in Pondicherry and Tamil Nadu.

He said that the list of candidates of the Uzhaippaali Makkal Munnetra Kazahagam would released on Saturday.
