Lucknow: Taking a serious view of some lawyers allegedly misbehaving with a Chief Judicial Magistrate to get two of their colleagues released on bail, the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court on Thursday cancelled the interim bail of the two lawyers and barred 13 lawyers from entering the civil court premises till April 13. A Division Bench comprising Justice O P Srivastav and Justice Shailendra Saxena sought a clarification from State Principal Secretary, Home, the Director General of Police and the District Magistrate as to why adequate security was not provided in the court despite its earlier orders. The Court issued contempt notices to the 13 lawyers, including the Uttar Pradesh Bar Association President Saroj Shukla, and the State Bar Council while fixing April 13 as the next date of hearing. The Court cancelled the interim bail of the two lawyers and directed them to surrender by April 10. It also asked the Senior Superintendent of Police to arrest them if they do not comply with the Court's orders. The Court had taken suo-motu cognisance of the matter and sought a report from the district judge. -- PTI
