THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: This year's engineering and medical entrance examinations scheduled to commence on April 24 have been postponed.
New dates
A press note issued here on Thursday said the engineering entrance examination would be held on May 16 and 17. The paper one Physics and Chemistry would be held from 10 a.m. to noon on May 16 while the paper two Mathematics will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on May 17. The aptitude test for the architecture course will be held from 10 a.m. to noon (aesthetic sensitivity) and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. (drawing) on May 21.
Medical entrance
The Medical/Agricultural entrance examinations (including B.Pharm/agriculture/veterinary courses) will be held on May 18 and 19.
Polls come in the way
According to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, this change has been necessitated as a number of examination centres have been notified as polling stations, counting centres and distribution centres for poll material.
Moreover, the availability of staff for conducting the examinations is also likely to be hit due to the elections, the press note added.
