Two new flyovers for Delhi
Expressing satisfaction over the timely completion of the two flyovers, Ms. Dikshit said the Public Works Department (PWD) was now moving at par with Delhi Metro in completion of various projects to provide infrastructure facilities for the Commonwealth Games-2010.
Ram Navami celebrated
Former International President of Vishva Hindu Parishad Vishnu Hari Dalmia lit a ceremonial lamp to inaugurate the procession. The procession started at 2-30 p.m. from Ramlila Grounds and culminated at Gangeshwar Dham in Karol Bagh. A large number of people welcomed the procession at various places along the way. The procession included tableaux, horses and motorcycles.
Health parade
With "Working Together for Health" as its theme, the parade started at Moolchand Medcity and terminated at Red Fort. It was jointly organised by the Heart Care Foundation of India and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
Lecture-cum-demo on Mohiniattam
The session was conducted by Mohiniattam exponent Vijaylakshmi and an accompanying team of artistes.
Dilshad Garden RWA decision on power bills
The residents have decided to pay only 50 per cent of their electricity bills from the next billing cycle. A meeting was organised this past week to discuss inflated power bills and frequent complaints of poor service by the discoms. URJA convenor Promod Chawla lamented that the Delhi Government and discoms had now made it an official policy to raise power charges to compensate for power thefts.
