Karaikudi: Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has said that she will take legal action to get the assent of the Governor to implement the Cable TV law, which was passed in the State Assembly. Speaking to reporters here on Thursday after campaigning for O.L. Selliah, who is contesting from Karaikudi constituency, she said she would take the step immediately after emerging victorious in the elections. The Bill was passed with the primary objective of streamlining the distribution system and to prevent monopoly in the cable TV business. The Act will come into force only after it gets the assent of the Governor. "We have already sent many reminders to the Governor. The Governor, till now, has not given his assent," she said. Ms. Jayalalithaa criticised Union Finance Minister P. Chidambaram for freezing operations of the Sivaganga District Central Cooperative Bank .
