City records 40.2 degree C

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: With temperatures not exactly playing very pleasant hosts, respite is far from coming, say Meteorological Department authorities who don't see the temperatures cooling down for the next three or four days.

The maximum of 40.2 that was registered on Thursday was the highest that Hyderabad witnessed so far, say Met authorities.

They trace the intemperate weather to an upper air trough running from Chattisgarh down south passing through Telengana and Rayalaseema.

These northerly and northwesterly winds blowing over Andhra Pradesh are causing the dry weather conditions, says Director of the Met Department G. Sudhakar Rao.

The temperature is likely to hover around 39 to 40 degree Celsius for the next two days, he says.
