Reports to EC soon on raids on CPI (M) office

Midnapore (West Bengal): Reports will shortly be submitted to the Election Commission on the April 4 police raids on the Communist Party of India (Marxist)'s zonal office at Keshpur in West Bengal, Deputy Election Commissioner R. Balakrishnan said here on Thursday.

"We are aware of it. A complaint has been received from the CPI (M). Reports will be filed separately by the district magistrate, the Superintendent of Police and the EC observer and sent to the Commission."

The CPI (M) charged EC observer Manmohan Singh, camping in the area, with initiating the raids with the help of the Punjab police and the Rapid Action Force, at the instance of the Trinamool Congress. — PTI
