Man found dead at bathing ghat

VIJAYAWADA: A man was found dead under suspicious circumstances at Padmavathi bathing ghat on Friday. The Krishnalanka police said that Sajja Venkata Madhava, (29), of Ventrapradaga village in Krishna district came to the city on Friday morning and reached the ghat. Some urchins found Madhava's body and informed the police.

Succumbs to injuries

An old man succumbed to injuries at Government General Hospital here on Friday. Sadhu Reddy, (65), a migrant from Kadapa district was residing in a house near Saibaba temple in Krishnalanka.

On Thursday afternoon, he was knocked down by a RTC bus while he was crossing a road.

Held on kidnap charge

The Governorpet police on Friday arrested a jewellery shop owner on the charge of kidnapping a cobbler. The police charged T. Anna Rao of Vennela Jewellers in Governorpet with kidnapping M.V.V. Manikyala Rao, a cobbler, on March 13 for not clearing loan amount.
