NEW DELHI: German fastening and assembly material manufacturer, Wurth, has chalked out an ambitious plan to expand its operation in India targeting revenues of Rs. 25 crore by the year-end. The plan includes investments, acquisitions and increase in the head count to 5,000 in next ten years besides establishing a unit for hi-tech printed circuits at Bangalore. "Wurth group has been more than just a source of screws, screw accessories, dowels and plugs, tools and chemical products and now we are working towards establishing a network across the country for quick delivery of electrical installation materials, electronic components and screws to small and medium industries," visiting Chairman of Advisory Board, Wurth, H. C. Reinhold Wurth, said while interacting with media persons here on Thursday. Even as it has five offices, one each in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Bangalore, the company aims at establishing a distribution channel that provides products and services to customers such as auto repair garage, ware houses, wood and metal working units. It employs about 250 people and plans to employ over 5,000 in next ten years, he said.
India centric strategy
As part of its new India-centric strategy, he said the company would replicate the direct-distribution model that was followed in other parts of the world. The company is carrying Indian operations under the banner of Marion Wurth India Pvt Ltd.
