ERODE: In connection with the removing of Kambams from the Periya Mariamman, Chinna Mariamman and Vaikkal Mariamman temples and their procession along the main roads of the town, traffic will be diverted on April 8 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. In a press release on Friday, the police said buses and lorries proceeding to Salem, Tiruchengode and Namakkal would be operated from the Tirunagar Colony temporary bus stand. Buses coming from these towns via Pallipalayam may go via Cauvery Road, KNK Road, Moolapattarai and reach Thirunagar colony and the buses had to go to Pallipalayam through Cauvery Road. Buses coming from Coimbatore and Tirupur had to stop near the District Headquarters Hospital temporary bus stand. Buses to Coimbatore, Pollachi and Tirupur would be operated from this bus stand. Those coming from Sathyamangalam, Gobichettipalayam, Mettur and Bhavani had to stop at the Veerabadra street-Sathy main road junction. Buses coming from Palani, Madurai, Kangeyam, Trichirapalli and Karur would be operated via Railway Station Road and enter the western side of Periyarnagar and stop near the 80 ft road. From there it would be operated to Palani, Madurai, Trichirapalli and Karur via Gandhiji Road, Bull fight junction and Poondurai Road. Vehicles coming from Coimbatore to Tiruchengodu and Namakkal had to take diversion at Veerappampalayam junction to reach Pallipalayam via Villarasampatty, Veerappanchatram, Asokapuram and Tirunagar colony.
