He said the members of the State Bank of India Officers' and Staff Federation spearheaded the agitation in 1992 for the revision of pension schemes of public sector banks.

Now it is the duty of the other public sector banks to take part in the agitation of the SBI staff and officers, he said.

Employees of Life Insurance Corporation of India supported the strike of State Bank of India employees by staging demonstrations before their respective offices on Thursday.

Earlier, Shankar Jalawadi, office-bearer of the State Bank of India Officers Federation, briefed the striking employees about the developments that have taken place so far.
