Hyderabad: Western Railway defeated Northern Railway 3-1 in the final of the 65th all-India railway hockey tournament at the police hockey stadium in Begumpet here on Friday. After the teams were locked one all at half time, the second session saw Western dominate the proceedings and pump in two more goals to settle the issue. The first goal for Western was scored by Chandrakesh Kumar just four minutes after the start. But Northern fought back and got the equaliser in the 33rd minute through Harish Kumar. In the second session Western Railway got going and Northern Railway failed to check the repeated raids. Amarjeet Singh gave Western Railway the lead again as he scored in the 36th minute following a penalty corner and in the 59th minute Hardeep Singh scored the third and final goal for Western Railway.
