Theft in guesthouse

TIRUMALA: Miscreants decamped with cash, gold jewellery and mobile phones from one of the four suits located in the second Varahaswamy guesthouse complex in the small hours of Friday.

According to the Tirumala Crime Police, the theft was committed while Srinivasa Rao of Vijayawada, who occupied the suit along with his family members, was away attending the `Nijapada seva' performed in the temple. Top officials of the TTD, including Tirumala-based Special Officer A.V. Dharma Reddy, rushed to the guesthouse and made enquiries.
