TIRUPATI: RTC chairman and former MLA Gone Prakasa Rao on Friday joined issue with the BJP for its `double-speak' on the Telangana issue. In his poser to BJP president Rajnath Singh, Mr Prakasa Rao also wanted to know from him as to why the BJP which under its `small states' formula conceded Uttaranchal, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh when it ruled the country under the NDA banner, evaded the formation of Telangana though the demand for the same existed even several decades before the demand for the three States emerged.
State leaders faulted
Addressing a press conference here in this connection, the RTC chairman also took exception to the State BJP leaders like M. Venkaiah Naidu, Bandaru Dattatreya, Vidyasagar Rao and Bangaru Lakshman, whom he called as `politically unemployed' after the BJP's rout in the last election, trying to blame the Congress for the delay in the formation of Telangana. To reinforce his point, he cited the Congress constituting the Pranab Mukherjee committee, which in turn recommended to the CWC the constitution of the second SRC. He then went on to explain how the CWC adopted a resolution to this effect and forwarded the same to the NDA Government which though in power, neither conceded the demand nor gave reasons for not doing so.
