Hussainsagar cleanup

HYDERABAD: Proliferation of blue green algae in the Hussainsagar has given rise to the unbearable stench at Necklace Road, according to BPPA Project Director Chandramohan Reddy. The sudden steep rise in day temperatures was the cause of proliferation, he said.

To remove these algae, workers have been employed. The operation of clearing algae started on Wednesday and would continue for three or four days. No chemicals are being used for this, as it would affect lake eco system.
