GREENS ON THE RAMP: A display of vegetable carving at an exhibition organised by the VFPCK in Kochi recently.
KOCHI: More than 25,000 people visited the three-day fruits and vegetables exhibition that ended on Wednesday. The show was organised by the Vegetable and Fruit Promotion Council Keralam (VFPCK) in a bid to promote the use of fruits and vegetables. A spokesman for the Council said on Thursday that the show, into its third edition, was a grand success considering the number of people who visited it and the brisk sale of fruits, vegetables and even some planting materials. The Council had also organised a vegetable carving competition on the last as part of the show. Rijo and Regi from Poochakkal in Alappuzha district demonstrated that they could turn vegetables into beautiful forms and bagged the top prizes in the vegetable carving competition. The prizes were given away by K.R. Vishwambharan, managing director, TELK.
