Bangalore: Union Minister for Law and Justice H.R. Bharadwaj on Saturday announced that vacancies in the Supreme Court and all the High Courts would be filled in six months. Participating in the function organised to felicitate 74 former judges of the Karnataka High Court, including retired and sitting judges of the Supreme Court, and advocates who have completed 50 years of practice in Bangalore, the Minister said that the procedure for the appointment of judges had been completed. The Union Government was in touch with the Chief Justice of India on the issue. Declaring that the Centre was committed to strengthening the judiciary, Mr. Bharadwaj said the institution should be nurtured. People had confidence in judicial institutions.
