Prajapatham to be completed in two phases

CHITTOOR : The mass contact Prajapatham programme would be implemented in 1,380 gram panchayats and 226 municipal wards in two phases in the district, according to District Collector S.S.Rawath. Talking to mediapersons here on Saturday he said that in the first phase 963 panchayats and 154 municipal wards, that don't fall into Indiramma Pathakam, would be covered under Prajapatham from April 10 to 28. In the second phase, the programme will be implemented from May 7 to 12 in 417 gram panchayats and 93 municipal wards programme coming under Indiramma Pathakam.

Teams will be constituted comprising mandal revenue officers, mandal parishad officers, RWS PR and Transco Assistant Engineers to undertake a mobile tour provided by the district administration. The focus will be on Rs 5 crore schemes like drinking water, power supply, employment, ration cards and 25 paise interest loans to Self Help Groups. The drinking water shortage may aggravate in view of the onset of summer, hence the teams will prioritise on repairs and restoration of defunct bore wells to ensure steady supply of water. The officers will prevail upon the departments concerned to install capacitors to their schemes first and pursue big farmers to fix capacitors to electric pump sets.
