CHENNAI: The Rotary Club of Madras Temple City has recognised nine persons who have made significant contributions to various fields. The Sri Lankan Deputy High Commissioner, A.S. Nakandala, presented the awards in the presence of the club president, Navaneet. Actor Nagesh was honoured with the `Living Legend Award'. Political commentator and long time colleague Cho Ramaswamy presented the award to the actor. The `For the Sake of Honour Award' went to New York-based plastic and reconstructive surgeon Sharad Kumar Diksheet. The `Paul Harris Fellow Award' was presented to M.B.N. Rao, Chairman and MD of Canara Bank. The `Vocational Excellence Award' went to Jayendra and Senthil of Real Image Media Technologies. The `Youth Merit Award' went to 19-year-old Formula Car race driver Armaan Ibrahim, the `Community Concerns Award' to Vidya Reddy of Tulir, and `Vocational Service Award' to S. Muthiah, Head Constable of Ambattur Industrial Estate Police Station, for his community work. Friends of the Beach - Exnora took the `Brave Heart Award'.The `Guts `n' Grit Award' went to Tejaswi (10) and his mother Rekha.
